Alice V. Sidener, age 89 , of Cridersville died peacefully at 4:50 p.m., on July 2, 2011 at Otterbein-Cridersville. Alice was born March 16, 1922 to John Louis and Henrietta Barbara Stork Schlegel, both parents are deceased. She married Charles F. Sidener June 19, 1942 and he survives in Cridersville.
Mrs. Sidener was a retired school bus driver for Perry Schools. She was a member of St. Matthew Church and former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and played the organ for the church choir. She was a life member the Memorial Hospital Volunteers with over 4756 hours and was a member of the Hix n Chix Square Dance Club and the V. F. W. 1275 Aux.
Survivors include 2 sons: David Charles (Cheryl Stefanik) Sidener of Columbus Station, OH, Larry Alan (Debbie) Sidener of Cridersville, 2 daughters: Janet Ruth (Ronnie) Stevely of Wapakoneta, Kathy Lynn Eberle of Cridersville, 9 grandchildren: Bryan (Kris) Stevely, Brad (Julie) Stevely, Kelsey Stefanik-Sidener, Tara (Neill) Rhodes, Amy (Dale) Hansen, Marc Sidener, Eric (Melissa) Eley, Chad (Valerie) Eley and Sabrina Eberle, 18 great grandchildren: Joshua, Nathan, Tyler, Chelsea, Adrian, Catherine, and Molly, Leyton, Sarah, Elisha, Claire, Trinity, Dillon, Aaron, Cole, Caleb, Landen and Ella; a brother: John Louis (Shirley) Schlegel of Wapakoneta, and a sister Louetta Ruth Vermillion of Cridersville.
She was preceded in death by brothers Donald Henry (Rosanna) Schlegel and Edward Leo Schlegel and a sister Marjorie Rose (Neil) Perry.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Pastor James C. Couser officiating and burial will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Wed. at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville
Memorial contributions maybe given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
