Amos R. Tucker, age 80, of Cridersville and formerly of West Virginia died 11:13 p. m. Monday April 9 at his residence. He was born June 20, 1931 in Marting, WV to James Edward and Nina G. Thompson Tucker. He married Shelby Jean Sebers May 24, 1958 and she survives in Cridersville.
Mr. Tucker retired from Fruehauf Trailer of Delphos. He was an U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was a member of the Lima Missionary Baptist Church for 45 years which he loved dearly. He was a member of the Tri State Gun Club and was always looking for a unique gun or knife to trade. He enjoyed going to garage sales and talking to people. His family was very important to him and he especially treasured time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include a son Paul (Lisa) Tucker of Cridersville, a daughter Teresa Iler of Elida, 3 grandchildren: Greg, Shelby and Cody, 3 great grandchildren Aiden, Gavin and Mya, a brother Charles Tucker of Dixie, WV, a sister Virginia Gay Burleson of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jim Iler May 17, 2010, 2 brothers Ray and Bob Tucker and 3 sisters: Myrtle Pritt, Elva Williams and Anna Lou Auxier.
Funeral service will begin 10:30 a. m. Thursday, April 12 at Lima Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Brock,Rev. Don Smith, Rev. Denny Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p. m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
