Obituary

Anthony T. Raesky, age 91 of Lima, died at 3:45 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Cridersville Health Care. He was born March 19, 1921 in Montezuma, Ohio. He is the son of the late Jacob and Flora Yantze Raesky. On October 4, 1958 he married Dorothy J. Parker, who survives.

Survivors include 3 children – Laura (John) Gabel of Wapakoneta; Anne (Terry) Johnson of Texas, Mary (Jim) Pohlabel of Hamilton, OH; 8 grandchildren – Luke Gabel, Grant Gabel, Phillip Gabel;
Sarah Johnson and Mary Johnson, Adam Pohlabel, Hannah Pohlabel, and Jacob Pohlabel.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Mr. Raesky retired from Phillips Corporation in Ottawa, Ohio. He is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Wapakoneta and is a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima. After graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Pacific during World War II. He is a life member of the V.F.W. Post 8445 and the K of C both of Wapakoneta. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, and watching sports.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 8445 of Wapakoneta.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church or the donor’s choice.
