Arleen Shepler, age 90 of Mt. Cory, passed at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Mennonite Home in Bluffton. She was born November 6, 1932 in Lima to the late Albert William and Lola Juanita Fox Lowry. In 1972 she married Homer Shepler who survives.
Arleen was a homemaker and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing and working on crafts.
Also surviving is a son Mike (Eric Martin) Zwiebel of Florida; 3 grandchildren – Jason (Jennifer) Zwiebel, Angela Zwiebel, and James (Brooke) Zwiebel; several great grandchildren; 2 brothers – A. David Lowry of St. Mary’s; Edward D. Lowry of Cridersville; 1 sister – Beverly Davis of Jackson Center, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband – Leonard Leroy Zwiebel who passed in 1999; a son – William Albert Zwiebel; 2 brothers – Kenneth W. Lowry and Robert Lowry and a sister – Sue Wheaton.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Dave Burkhart will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen or Auglaize County Human Society or to Deb’s Dogs.
