Arthur M. Timmis, age 60 of Lima, passed at 7:54 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his residence in his wife’s loving arms. He was born August 20, 1961 in Orlando, Florida to the late Arthur L. and Marietta Sligh Timmis. He married Annette E. Roose, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Timmis retired after 20 years from the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant. After his retirement he began his second career as a truck driver spending over 25 years on the road. He was a true family man, working hard to provide for his family, and always putting them first. When he became a grandpa, that was one of the best gifts of life, and he was all about the grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love and guidance he gave his family.
Also surviving are 4 daughters – Crystal D. (Roy) Galloway of Plainville, Massachusetts; Tabitha L. (Jeff) Heitzmann of Waynesfield, Ohio; Amber M. (Justin) Sprague of Elida, Ohio; Cortney A. (Claudio) Timmis Polanco of Lima; 8 grandchildren – Aubrey and Lucas Galloway; Madison and Samantha Hutchison; Caley and Lauren Sprague; Azalya and Jaiden Polanco; a brother – Harry (Nicole) Timmis of Butler, Indiana; and a nephew – Matthew Timmis.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Saturday at the Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Funeral services will begin 6:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Military rites will be observed by the V.F.W. and U.S. Army Honor Guard.
