Barbara J. Sherrick, age 71 of Cridersville, passed at 11:18 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born April 17, 1949 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Henry Edward and Jeanne Pitts Harris.

Barb graduated from St. Clairsville High School and went on to business school where she became a medical secretary. She retired from B.P. Chemical, was a member of the Cridersville Methodist Church and a former member of the St. Clairsville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching action, murder, and mystery movies, and especially the Hallmark Chanel. Barb was an avid reader up until her vision declined, and enjoyed her furry companions. She will be remembered for being a sweet, kind hearted woman who would help anyone. Most of all, she treasured and adored her family.

She is survived by a daughter – Sara (Nathan) Weekley of Cridersville; a granddaughter – Shelby Weekley; a brother – James (Kathy) Harris of Tallmadge, Ohio; a niece – Breanna (Zach Hohman) Harris of Texas and a nephew – Brent (Michelle) Harris of Tallmadge, Ohio; 2 stepsons- Travis (Cara) Sherrick of Delphos and Troy Sherrick of Delphos; 3 grandchildren – Braxton Sherrick, Carter Sherrick, and Eli Sherrick.

She was preceded in death by her companion Tom Ewing and her former husband, Rick Sherrick.

Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday January 30, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
