Barbara Kay Vasquez Hoff, 75, of Lima passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 10:57 a.m. at her home. Barb was born April 11, 1943 to the late Carl M. and Laura Evelyn Humphreys Leach in Portsmouth, Ohio. She married Robert D. Payton in 1961, later, married Arnold R. Vasquez in June of 1971 and on April 11, 2000 she married James E. Hoff all of Lima.
Barb graduated from Portsmouth East in 1961. In 1989, after many years of doing crafts shows and crafts in her basement, Barb opened her own business called Hearts & Flowers located in Shawnee. The business was a consignment shop of various crafters from the area and included dried floral arrangements. At first, the shop was located on Breese Road, but when the business out grew the building, Hearts & Flowers was then moved to 2540 Shawnee Road. The business closed in 1998. In her spare time she enjoyed going to the casino, shopping and spending time with her family
Additional survivors include a son: William Douglas (Susan) Vasquez of Indianapolis, daughters Suzanne ‘Suzie’ Vasquez of Delphos and Angie (Tom) Sheidler of Elida, grandchildren: Ashley Vasquez, Amanda (Shane) McDaniel, Amber Vasquez, Joe (Jodie) Vasquez, Heather Vasquez, Lauren Sheidler and Ryan Sheidler, 6 great grandchildren, a brother Gary W. (Kathy) Leach of Portsmouth, Ohio and a sister-in-law Margaret Leach of Wheelersburg, Ohio
