Beatrice L. Barnes, age 80 of Cridersville, died at 9:55 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born November 13, 1932 in Wapakoneta, Ohio to the late Truett A. and Mollie Luella Sealscott Howell. On November 9, 1951 she married Herman L. Barnes who died June 10, 1983.

Mrs. Barnes was a retired floral designer with Family Florist Flower Shop and a homemaker. Prior to attending the Open Door Baptist Church, she was a member of Hume United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed beaches and lighthouses. She loved her family, needlepointing, and her pets.

Survivors include a son – Rick L. (Tiffani) Barnes of Portland, Oregon; a daughter – Brenda (Jeff Kohler) Barnes of Cridersville, 3 grandchildren – Eric (Kaitlin) Barnes; Erica (Josh) Hall and Beau (Ralisha) Herman; 4 great grandchildren – Cameron, Emily, Mollie, Breanna; a brother – Fred R. (Linda) Howell of Cridersville; a sister-in-law – Marlene Howell of Cridersville.

She was preceded in death by a brother – Jack R. Howell.

Funeral services will begin 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor William Turner will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or donor’s choice.
