Betty Jane Henderson

Betty J. Henderson, age 95 of Lima, died at 1:12 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. She was born September 17, 1922 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Leslie C. and Margaret A. Lee Wall. On April 8, 1945 she married William C. Henderson, Sr. who died September 10, 1989.

Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and a member of the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, Lima. She was an avid self taught musician and enjoyed riding her bike.

Survivors include 2 daughters – Kim E. (Norman) Battle of Lima; Angela L. (Glenn) Evans of Lima; 6 sons – Leslie C. Henderson, Sr. of Lima; Victor G. Henderson of Lima; Howard A. (Jenny) Henderson of Lima; Barry A. Henderson of Lima; Basil P. Henderson, I of Lima; Richard Miller of Toledo, Oh; 1 daughter-in-law – Patsy Henderson of Lima; over 139 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; in-laws – Wyllene Wall of Cleveland, Ohio; Dorothy Wall of Fresno, CA; Mary Wall of Sidnay, Ohio; Robert Henderson of Lima; Harold Henderson of Sacramento, CA; Teresa Stinson of Detroit, MI; Phyllis McGee of Lima Glenda Henderson of Detriot, MI and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons – William C. Henderson, Jr.; Phillip S. Henderson; 3 brothers – John Wall, William Wall, and Thomas Wall; and a sister – Lesta Jackson.

Home going will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2017 at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, 190 East 8th Street, Lima. Pastor B. Lamont Monford, Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.

The friends may call at the church fom 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday. The family will be at the church from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church or the family.
