LIMA — Betty Jean Kantner, 81, passed away on March 13th 2023 of an extended illness. Born on Jan. 27, 1942, Betty was one of sixteen children born to Leroy and Ava Marie Clevenger who proceeded her in death.
On July 26, 1965 Betty married Thurman E. Kantner who passed away on Jan. 3,1993.
Mrs. Kantner was a homemaker who loved cats, country music, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by a son, Kenneth K Kantner of Lima; grandchildren, Julie Garretson, Liz Dunlap, Dustin Owsley, Christy Holthouse, Melissa Shaw, and Kenneth D Kantner, all from Lima. Sisters; Mary Coleman (86) of Arizona; Barbara Jo Stander (76) of Georgia and a brother, Micheal E Clevenger (78) of South Carolina. Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Kantner; a daughter, Juanita Belle Everett; Eight brothers and four sisters; Leroy Clevenger Jr, Walter Clevenger, Ronald Clevenger, Robert Clevenger, James Clevenger, William Clevenger, David Clevenger and her twin brother, Larry Clevenger. Ethal Clevenger, Ruth Mahood, Darlene Cannon, and Linda Heckrodt.
A celebration of life will take place on March 19th, 2023 at 505 W. North St. From 1pm to 3 pm with final services taking place on Sunday July 23, 2023.
Betty will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Kalida Cemetery.
