Betty June Hurley, age 80 of Wapakoneta, died at 6:25 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2011, in Heartland of Waterville Nursing Home, in Waterville, Ohio. She was born May 22, 1931 in Spencerville, Allen County, Ohio. She is the daughter of Melvin David and Bernice May Logan Richardson. Both parents are deceased. On May 14, 1947 she married Rev. Donald E. Hurley who survives at Otterbein-Cridersville Retirement Community.

Survivors include 3 sons – Donald Eugene (Cheryl) Hurley, Jr. of Sevierville, TN; John W. (Lorraine) Hurley of Spencerville, Ohio; Dwight David (Edna) Hurley of Bristow, VA; 1 daughter – Cheryl A. (Michael) Teets of Erie, MI; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 brother – Ralph (Judy) Richardson of Spencerville, Ohio; 1 sister – Mary (Carl) Best of Rymersburg, PA.

Mrs. Hurley was a homemaker and a member of Hume United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting, and traveling. Church was always very meaningful to her. She loved her family and spending time with them. Rev. and Mrs. Hurley found great pleasure in traveling and sharing special time with their grandchildren.

Funeral Services will begin 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Rick Lamb will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date in Spencerville Cemetery, Spencerville, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hume United Methodist Church.
