Betty L. Joseph, 80, died at 9:45 p.m., on Dec. 30, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 3, 1930 the youngest child of Gertrude (McDaniel) and Benjamin Tackett, who preceded her in death. Her husband, Richard, to whom she had been married for over 60 years, survives.
An infant twin sister, twin brothers and a sister preceded Betty in death.
Betty was a waitress for many years in the Cridersville and Elmview areas. She had worked at Decker’s, Maxwell Steak House and John’s House of Prime.
Two daughters survive her, Patricia A. (John H.) Johnson of Lima and Debra K. (Kenneth) Nester of Wapakoneta. She is survived by 2 granddaughters, Angela Nicole Nester (Kevin) McGlothen and Kelli Ann Nester (Austin) Fisher, both of Wapakoneta, and a stepgranddaughter, Mindi Hoge of Las Vegas, Nevada. One grandson, John Richard Joseph Johnson of Lima, better known as J. J. , survives her. Four great-granddaughters also survive: Karsyn and Rilyn McGlothen and Berkley and Lauryn Fisher. Betty’s July 3rd birth date was the same as her mothers and is also the birth date of her great granddaughter Lauryn.
Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. There will be no visitation or public services.
