Betty Lou LaRue, age 86 of Cridersville, passed at 11:32 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2020 at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born March 21, 1934 in Delphos, Ohio to the late Elbert Theodore and Nellie Mae Hittle Butler. On May 29, 1953 she married Robert A. ‘Bob’ LaRue who passed February 5, 2002.
Betty had worked for Mattel Toys in California, then Artex, but was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Cridersville United Calvary Church which integrated and is now Cridersville United Methodist Church. She loved creating and selling crafts, enjoyed painting and drawing, and working in her flower bed. She had been involved with the Citizens Band Radio Club, the Eagles, and the V.F.W. auxiliary in Middlepoint.
She is survived by a daughter – Debra K. (Kerry) Gatliff of Griffin, Gerogia; a son – Dwayne A. (Kim) LaRue of Cloverdale; 3 grandchildren – Robert C. (Robin) Gatliff; Shawn A. (April) LaRue; Jeremy L. (Tina) LaRue; 4 great grandchildren – Caleb A. LaRue; Layne LaRue; Casey LaRue; Liam LaRue; a sister – Arneda (Russel) Shark of Spencerville; and a sister-in-law – Wanda Butler of Englewood; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers – Edward Butler, Ralph Butler, and Elbert Butler, Jr. and a sister – Goldie Shaeffer.
