Billy M. Blackmore age 89, of Cridersville passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at Otterbein-Cridersville. He was born Dec. 3, 1932 in Beaver, PA to the late Burdell and Elizabeth (McCullough) Blackmore. He married Gladys Marderosian who preceded him in death and Sandra Jean Baker March 22, 1980 and she survives in Cridersville.
Billy served in the U.S. Army with the 11th Air Borne Division during Korea and had been a postal clerk retiring in 1987. Odd jobs after retirement included delivering automotive parts in Lima, a semi driver delivering grain and had been a guard at Honda. Billy loved to fly, having his pilots license and owned a few planes over the years. He also loved his dogs.
Additional survivors include a son David John (Katie) Blackmore; a daughter Elaine Ann Schweikarth both of Murrysville, PA; a stepdaughter Laurie Lynn (Larry) Bales of Findlay; 5 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister Bonnie Jean Diddle of East Liverpool; stepdaughters-in-laws Carleen Jackson and Diana Jackson.
He was preceded in death by a brother Burdell Blackmore and stepsons Michael Kim Jackson and Randy Kyle Jackson.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Deb’s Dogs 1560 Wonderlick Road Lima 45805.
