Beloved cat, Blu Richardson, 6 years, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Metz Petz Veterinary Clinic in Ada surrounded by his favorite person, Krista Richardson, her husband, Vance Poteet, and son Camden Poteet.
Blu was born in June 2013. Krista immediately fell in love with the black short-haired kitten with the brightest blue eyes who would greet her on her front porch every evening.
Blu joined the family and enjoyed napping in his big comfy cat bed and snuggling on the couch as a kitten. As he got older, he became a companion cat and followed Krista from room to room. He always greeted her with a meow and enjoyed sleeping near her feet every night. He often perched at the foot of the bed or atop the back of the couch with his long front legs draped down to tap you as you walked by him.
Blu adored his family, but he hid under the bed from strangers and the vacuum cleaner. His joys of life were simple. His favorite pastime was napping atop the couch cushion closest to the front door so that he could see outside. He also passed many hours sitting in front of the storm door watching the leaves blow in the wind. He reveled in rolling around on the concrete walkway because it felt good. It must have reminded him of his youth as a front porch stray. He loved to eat and never hesitated to remind Krista if his food bowl needed to be replenished. He was determined to catch the red laser dot!
Blu also leaves behind his cat sibling, Phoebe.
Blu was dearly loved and he will be forever missed! He leaves his paw prints on the hearts of us all.
