Carl Daniel ‘Dan’ Lotz, age 56, of Lima died 2:50 a.m., Sunday Jan. 16 at his residence. He was born Sept. 18, 1954 in Lima to Carl Wayne and Donna Jean McClain Lotz. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Cridersville. He married Nancy Ann Mullins Nov. 25, 1981 and she survives in Lima.
Additional survivors include 3 sons: Jason (Stephanie) Lotz of Jenera, Billy (Michelle) Porter of Lima, Justin (Karlie) Lotz of Sarasota, FL a daughter: Jennie Bowman of Wapak, 2 brothers: Mike Lotz and Rick (Alice) Lotz both of Wapak, 2 sisters: Nancy (Lane) Bushong of Lima and Becky (Evan) Spencer of Sylvania and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Eugene Lotz.
Dan had been a millwright and was president of Lotz Millwrights. He was a member of Vintage Carting Association and enjoyed building vintage go carts. He raced go carts and was owner of Lotz Motorsports.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Kellogg officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery near Cridersville.
