Charles H. ‘Chuck’ Croy 91, of Lima died 5:40 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at Richland Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 11, 1924 in Dola, Ohio to the late James Henry and Clara Belle Hoffman Croy. He married Dana Marie Pratte Feb. 24, 1946 and she preceded him in death March 11, 2008.
Chuck had been a member of Perry United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. He had also been a member of the Lima Beane Chorus and volunteered for Lima Memorial Hospital and had been a member of the V.F. W. Post 1275 funeral detail. He had served in the U.S. Army during WW II and then drove transport truck for 44 years.
Survivors include a son: Donald E. (Cindy) Croy of Lima, daughter Jane Marie (Jack) Centers of Lima a daughter-in-law Patti Croy of Elida, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and a sister Dorothy Margaret Wilson of Kenton.
He was preceded in death by a son Richard C. Croy, a brother Glenn A. Croy and a sister Ruth Lousie Obenour.
The family will recieve friends 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeal Home, Cridersville.
The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville with Pastor Alex Wiles officiating and entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum military rites will be provided by V. F. W. Post 1275.
Memorial contributions may be given to Perry United Methodist Church.
