Charles Richard McClain, age 89 of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Cridersville, Ohio,
passed away at 1:02 a.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Bayfront Health Center, Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born
November 5, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan; the son of the late Edwin Lee and Ruth Anna Englehardt McClain. On August 6,
1954 he married Donna M. Leonard, who preceded him in death.
Mr. McClain had worked as a sales representative with Indianhead Trucklines, he then worked as
a clerk with the Lima Post office retiring November 30, 1990, and then went on to work Bank One as a courier from
1991 through 1997. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a life member of the B.P.O.E. lodge
#54 of Lima and the V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima. Other memberships included the T.D.F. Dance Club of Wapakoneta,
the Footprints Club of Lima, and the Eagles Lodge #691 of Wapakoneta.
Loving survivors include his son Edwin Lee McClain of Wapakoneta, daughters Michelle Kilgore of
Rossville, GA and Gale McPheron of Port Charlotte, FL; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother George A. McClain.
