Cheryl L. Vassar, age 67 of Lima, passed at 8:45 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. She was born July 12, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to the late Paul Basil and Esther Suzanne Trusty Vassar.
Cheryl previously worked at Metokote of Lima. She enjoyed working with arts and crafts and especially shopping of any kind. She was very talented, creating on her computer and writing poetry. Her greatest joy and treasure was her family. She is remembered for her youthful personality, being goofy, telling jokes, and spending time with her grandchildren. Everyone that met her, loved her.
Surviving are her children; Nicole Vassar of Toledo, Daniel Williams, Francesca Williams, and Jeanette Santos of Lima; 6 grandchildren; Andre’as Williams whom she raised, Shaquayla Stiggers, Kayonna Stiggers, Eugene Stiggers, Jr., Zyshon Stiggers, Sr., and J’andre White; 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers; Paul (Jama) Vassar of Elkhart, Indiana, Mark (Cherie) Vassar of Lima, Craig (Rebecca) Vassar of Toledo, one sister; Michelle Vassar Foster of Columbus; a lifelong friend; Allison White of Lima; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she was close to.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; Taylor Hackworth; a brother; Steven Vassar, and a sister-in-law; Kari Vassar.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor Floyd Upshaw will officiate.
