Clara Belle Stammen, 69, died at 1:04 p.m. July 16, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Cridersville, to Clarence and Dorothy C. Botkins Rhodes, who preceded her in death. On May 4, 1964, she married Thomas Marion Stammen, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Mrs. Stammen had worked for the Lima Telephone Co., then at Beer Barrel Pizza, Lima, where she was a cook, and then became a dietician at Cridersville Health Care, Cridersville. She had been a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Cridersville, and was attending St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with her husband. She enjoyed growing herbs in her garden and sharing them. She loved spending time cooking for her family. Family was very important to her and she valued the time spent with them.
Survivors also include two sons, Michael Allen (Julie) Stammen and Thomas Andrew Stammen, both of Wapakoneta; two grandchildren, Linnea Stammen and Dakota Stammen; a great-granddaughter, Layla Saunders; and two brothers, Roger (Noni) Rhodes, of Bluffton, and Richard (Joann) Rhodes, of Ada.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Patrick Sloneker will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Cridersville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute.
