Clark M. Gilbert, age 81 of Dearborn, Michigan and formerly of Lima and Celina, died at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at his residence in Michigan. He was born May 24, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio; to the late Nelson Miles and Edna Osterland Gilbert. On October 25, 1952 he married Marjorie Carole Cooke, who died January 27, 2004. On October 2, 2004 he married Anna Burkel, who survives in Michigan.
Mr. Gilbert retired in 1986 as a Control Systems Specialist from Standard Oil of Ohio where he had worked for 32 years. After graduating Cleveland West Tech High School in January 1951 he joined the
U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where he was a member of the church choir. Loving music he was involved in the Grand Lake Chorus, the Southern Palms Church Choir, and the Tri County Barber Shop Chorus.
Also survived by sons – Donald (Cindy) Gilbert of Lima; Daniel (Zhenlin) Gilbert of Akron; a daughter – Diane (Todd) Boughan of Lima;6 Step sons in Michigan; Tony (Monica) Burkel, Paul (Kelly) Burkel, Roger (Laurie) Burkel, Doug Burkel, Chuck Burkel, Joe (Beth) Burkel; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren; sisters – Dorothy (James) Ward of Cleveland; and Lila (Ray- Deceased) Graham of Massillon.
He was preceded in death by a sister – Edith Loescher.
Funeral services will begin 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday and from noon to 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
