Clifford A. Carroll, age 85 of Lima, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his residence in Otterbein-Cridersville. On June 9, 1930 he was born to the late Jacob and Rhoda Ransbottom Carroll. On October 19, 1951 he married Maybelle ‘Skip’ Hall who preceded him in death in 2006.
He is survived by one son – Allen (Nancianne) Carroll, four daughters – Dennise (Les) Bice, Jane (Randy) Fosnaugh, Joan (Tom) Smith, Teresa (Dennis) Day; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.
Mr. Carroll and his wife were active in animal rescue in Homosassa Springs, Florida where they lived for several years. He retired as a letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Carroll and Berlin Carroll and his best friend Scooter whom he loved very much.
No local services are planned. His cremated remains will be buried in Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
