Clinton N. ‘Goose’ Gossard age 78, of Lima died 10:30 a.m., Monday May 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 21, 1935 in Allen County, Ohio to Foster Nelson and Lureta E. Burden Gossard, who preceded him in death. On February 14, 1958, he married Shirley, who survives.
Mr. Gossard had worked for BP Chemical Company and had served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8445, the AMVETS Posts 333, and the American Legion Post 330 all of Wapakoneta. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus, bowled in several leagues and was a 700 Club member. He was a 1953 graduate of Spencerville High School.
He is survived by a son: Tony N. Gossard of Dayton, OH, a daughter: Kimberly (Stephen) Ewan of Cincinnati, OH; 6 grandchildren: Ryan, Emily, Stephen, Molly, Mitchell and Nick, a great granddaughter Madalyn, 2 sisters: Barbara Roeder and Fairie Edmiston both of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven James Gossard who died August 21, 1963.
The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Memorial services will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Chaplain Herb Wilker officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by V.F. W. Post 8445.
Memorial contributions may be given to V. F. W. Post 8445 or St. Rita’s Hospice.
