David Allan Nice age 79, of Lima and formerly of Troy, Michigan passed away 9:15 a.m., Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Care Core of Lima. He was born July 5, 1941 in Lima to the late George Walter and Ada Liolynn (Dixon) Nice.
Dave grew up in Lima and was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a 1959 graduate of Lima Senior and received a mechanical engineering degree from Ohio Northern University in 1965. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, golf and bowling. He had been the pit crew for grand prix corvette racing back in the day. He retired from General Motors Tech Center as a design engineer in Michigan. Shortly after he began working there, he continued his love of Corvettes, buying a brand new 1967, 427.
Survivors include a brother Dick (Linda) Nice of Lima; 2 nieces and a nephew Nicole Nice Helmick (Brent), Tricia Nice Dilworth (Rich) and Marc Nice (Lacy) and 11 great nieces and nephews: Coner, Mason and Hayden Helmick, Cal, Brynne, Lydia, Dawson, Whittaker and Vivian Dilworth, Logan and Ian Nice.
The family will receive friends 9:30 Saturday, May 15, 2021 and funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville with Pastor Kris Browning and Dr. Daniel Messner officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association the NRA or Shawnee Alliance Building Fund.
