David D. ‘Sledge” Edgington age 59, of Harrod passed away at 11:10 p.m., Sunday Aug. 7 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born to Richard K. and Elaine Martin Edgington, his father survives in Wapak. He was raised by the late Harold and Marceil Rhodes.
Dave had been a welder fabricator for Spallinger Millwright Services and was a resident of Sun Valley Campgrounds. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and woodworking. Sledge was a massive Tony Stewart Fan.
Additional survivors include children David (Deanna) Edgington of Lafayette, Sarah (Ryan) Prine of Delphos, Alisha (Jon) Pollazek of London, step children Amy (James) Sisco of Greenville, Nikki (Scott) Kohnen of Columbus, Hope (Phill) Marshall of Lima, 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Kali, Abby, Andria, Hayden step grandchildren Sara, Shayla, Skylar, Shawn, Katie, Jeremy and Christopher, a step great granddaughter Maliyah, brother: Ray (Flo) Edgington, of Waynesfield, Bob (MaryLou) Rhodes of Elida, sisters: Kathy Randazzo of Glendale, AZ and Ruth (Ed) Eley of Lima, several nieces and nephews, very special friend Kim Cox, Sun Valley friends and Spallinger family and an estranged daughter Zeallie Prater.
He was preceded in death by a son Brian James Edgington and a brother Jim Rhodes.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 10 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and one hour prior to services at the church.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday Aug. 11 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Cridersville. Revs Roger Arroyo and Steve Nelson will officiate and burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery at a later date.
