David H. Newlands age 82, of Cloverdale’ Ohio,
(previously Burlington, Ontario) passed away 10:04
p.m., Saturday June 2, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health
Systems. He was born Oct. 15, 1935 to the late
Robert and Eva Newlands (nee Savage) in Hamilton,
Ontario. He is survived by Evelyn ‘Eve’ J. Newlands
(married, January 6, 2001) and his three daughters
Debra MacRae (John deceased), Dianna Blake
(David), Denise Newlands (Randy) and
step-children; Michael Cree (Stephanie), Matthew
Cree (Christy) and Melissa Cree-Mantua. He is also
survived by three siblings Audrey Johnston,
Kenneth Newlands (Edie), and half sister Cheryl
Rayner (nee Newlands), half-brother Robert Newlands
(Fern) and half-sister Denise (nee Warren). He
had 14 grandchildren and 7 great
grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased by step-mother Beatrice Newlands (nee
Payne) and daughter Darlene Newlands (March,
1969). Dave had been a truck driver for 50 years,
retiring in 2006. He enjoyed bowling when younger
and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and the
Boston Bruins. One of his favourite jobs was driving
for the Burlington Clancy’s men’s baseball team
years ago and taking care of his beloved Ranger.
