David Phillip Schlegel

David Phillip Schlegel age 82, of Wapakoneta passed away 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 16, 1939 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Paul Joseph and Ruth Evelyn 9Snyder) Schlegel. He married Roxie Louise Nutter Feb. 11, 1962 and she preceded him in death Jan. 17, 2006.
David was a member of Gardendale Church of God, enjoyed fixing clocks and collecting knives. He had worked at Shawnee Distributing for 30 years, Big Bear and retired from Walmart. David had served in the U. S. Army during peacetime.
Survivors include a son David Michael Schlegel of Wapak, daughter Tamala (Danny Schmidt) Schlegel- Lohr of Lima, 7 grandchildren: Malynda Schlegel, Alyssa Lohr, Brandon (Nicole) Schlegel, Cody Schlegel, Phillip Schlegel, Jessica Schlegel and Thomas Hullinger; 11 great grandchildren, brother Samual Stephen Schlegel of Philadelphia and a sister Barbara Jean (Kendol) Engle of West Palm Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by brother John Paul (Edna) Schlegel and a sister Jane Ann Schlegel.
Private burial of cremated remains will be in Fellowship Cemetery in Logan, Ohio at a later date.
