Debra K. Heilman Patrick, age 55 of Lima, was set free from the pain in this world to be with the Lord, at 7:45 p. m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 in Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. She was born March 26, 1957 in Kenton, Ohio. The daughter and step daughter of Howard E. (Nola) Heilman of Lima and Shirley A. Gillen Lotz of Lima.
Mrs. Patrick was a church member of Cridersville United Methodist Church. After graduating in 1975 from Shawnee High School, she worked as a clerk and cashier in convenience stores. She had lived in Charleston SC for over 30 years. While living there she had immersed herself in its history and learning to “cook southern”. Last June she had walked in the Lima Cancer Relay for Life with her family. She loved music, especially Motown, Classic 70s Rock, C.S.N., Bruce Springsteen and Adele. She will be deeply missed.
Other survivors include a brother William Franklin (Debby) Heilman of Lima, a sister LeeAnn (Ken) McCaslin of Cridersville, a niece Sarah McCaslin and a nephew Stephen McCaslin both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her former husband Orin Patrick, Jr. and a brother Michael D. Heilman.
Funeral service will begin 2:00 p. m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville with The Rev. Charles Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in Dunkirk Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cridersville United Methodist Church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
The family would like to thank all the medical people who helped in her fight at Lima Memorial Health System, The James Cancer Center and especially the angels at VanWert Inpatient Hospice. May God bless you all.
