Delmar D. Laupp age 94, of Cridersville went to be with the Lord 4:30 p.m., Saturday Sept. 24, 2016 at Otterbein-Cridersville. He was born Sept. 16, 1922 in Yakima, WA to the late William Gustav Emil and Johanna Leuning Laupp. He married Katherine Juanita ‘Kay’ Jackson and she preceded him in death. He later married Marilyn Joy Cotner Beall and she survives in Lima.
Del was raised in Buena & Prosser, Washington, graduating from Prosser High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Navy and fought in the second world war and then became a pilot and flight instructor and achieving the rank of lieutenant JG Navy Reserve. He then became a teacher in San Jose, CA and Camas, WA teaching Mechanical drawing, photography and was a tennis coach.
Additional survivors include sons: William Marshall Laupp of Hillsboro, Oregon, Gregory Dale Laupp of Yuba City, CA, Michael LaRoy (Gaylene) Laupp and Robert Blakely Laupp both of Campbell, CA, Step-sons: Michael (Donna) Beall of Shelbyvilel, KY and Anthony Jay Beall of Lima, Ohio; grandchildren: Melissa (Tom) Barrett, Carrie Laupp, Connor Laupp, Amanda Laupp, Alisha Allen, Step grandchildren: Mike Keough, Todd Keough, Shannon Bufford, Joshua Beall and Eric & Ryan Pheneger, great grandchild Kiley Barrett; sister: Yvonne Penfield of Spokane, WA and close niece and nephew Pat L. Pease and Kathleen Laupp deVries.
He was preceded in death by a brother: LaRoy William Laupp and a sister Ione Eleanore Hamilton.
The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, September 30 at Shawnee Community Church and the memorial service will follow at 11 with Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be buried in Oakhill Cemetery, Santa Clara, CA.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association or Shawnee Community Church Youth Program.
