Delores Holden, age 74 of Cridesville, passed away at 6:03 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at home with her loved ones by her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born October 12, 1947 in Lima to the late Bert W. Wallace and Ila June Mitchell Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Arthur C. Holden; her granddaughter – Amy M. Behr and brother – Robert W. Wallace.
She worked for Shawnee Schools as a head cook for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed the moments she got to spend with her husband, family, and pets the most. Nobody was a stranger and she needed to help everyone by always putting others before herself. Other things she loved were her animals, her Bengals, and of course Elvis. She needed her dog, Bella on her bed and ‘Bella Kisses’ as she took her last breath.
She is survived by her daughters – Pamela Holden of Cridersville; Christina Parlette of Lima, Vickie Holden-McKnight of Huber Heights; her 7 grandchildren – Breanna Kahle, Danny Phalen, Elizabeth Medlock, Kayla Parlette, Ashley Douglas, Richie Behr, and Stephanie Young; 8 great grandchildren; her beloved baby sister – Dortha Gray; her brother-in-law – Willie Gray and her sister-in-law – Martha Wallace.
A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2022 at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.
