Derek Michael Kitchen age 29, of Lima passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. He was born July 9, 1992 in Lima to Raymond Eugene Kitchen, II and Dena Danetta Elgert. Derek had a fiancee Amanda Stringfield that survives.
Derek had been a handyman and artist. He loved dirt bike riding, going for drives-always on the go. He had a love of animals with a soft spot for cats. He loved his daughter, Takara, more than anything.
Survivors include dad, Raymond (Melissa) Kitchen, II of Lima, mom, Dena (Thomas Gaddis) Elgert of Coldwater; daughter Takara Susan Faith Kitchen of Lima, siblings: Dustin Ray Kitchen of Celina, Nathan Waylon Longwell of Coldwater, Gwyn Kitchen of Lima; step sister Jasmine Van Meter of Lima; paternal grandparents Michael & Susan Kitchen, maternal grandparents Jim & Cindy Stanford of Lima; aunts & uncles: Aunt Chelle Kitchen, Fred (Angie) Elgert and Jimmy (Kristina) Stanford; niece Raeh Kitchen & nephew Ryland Purdy.
Preceded in death by a nephew Aidyn Kitchen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Man, I just found out. He moved to celina from lima and him and his two brothers joined are little skater group. He was always fun to chill with, and offered a great challenge in a game of skate. It's been along time since we've seen each other. I'm sorry with what happened. Life is strange. I hope the best to his family.
