Dirk deKok, age 81 of Lima, died at 9:50 a.m., Friday, April 15, 20116 at Lost Creek Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 30, 1935 in Rotterda, Holland to the late Andries and Dirkje maria (Zevenhuizen) deKok. On April 3, 1960 he married Kay M. Binkley who died March 28, 2012.
Surviving are one son: Tony (Mona) DeKock of Lima; two grandchildren: David (Tiffany Childress) deKok, Dyllon (Kristen) deKok; six great-grandchildren; one brother: Ben deKok of Holland.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Joop deKok, Abraham deKok; and one sister: Audrey Wetering.
Dirk was a retired home improvement handyman known for his work in plaster. After coming to America and becoming a citizen Dirk settled in Lima and worked at Superior Coach, Aampnell Construction, Keiffer Construction, and Ramada Inn. He finally went into business for himself. Dirk was a member of Eagles Lodge #370 here in Lima. Dirk enjoyed soccer, pigeon racing, fishing and gardening.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville with Pastor Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday and 2-3 Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
