Donald “Donnie” Hedrick, Sr., age 63, of West Chester, Ohio passed away Tuesday morning at Butler County Hospital. He was born July 2, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to Kathryn and Charles ‘Buddy’ Hedrick. He was a graduate of Bath High School in 1973. On Dec. 31, 1993 he married the love of his life, Nancy Lynn Epling who survives at home. Additional survivors include his mother, Kathryn and a step-mother, Monica Hedrick; 2 children: Donald (Sandra) Hedrick, Jr, and Jason Lehman; 2 grandkids, Donald Hedrick, III and Audrey Hedrick; siblings: Karla (William) Wogerman, Vicki (Jimmy) Herwick, Jolene (Jonathon) Wilson, Erika Scott, Kimberly (Gary King) Hardesty, Cindy (Mike) Thomas, Brad (Kathryn) Epling, Rebecca Epling; aunt and uncles: Steve (Diane) Hedrick, Becky Jones, May Rhodes and Charles Rhodes, along with several nieces and nephews who absolutely adored their “Uncle D”. He is also survived by several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Walter and Clara Belle Rhodes and his nephew Jeremy Hedrick.
Donald was a humble, hardworking man that took great pride in everything he did and believed that there was nothing more sacred in life than his family. After high school he entered the Navy and proudly served 6 years, until he was honorably discharged. For more than 30 years he worked as an owner/operator for TST Expedited Services. Donald was an avid fan of Cincinnati Bengals and always loved working in his yard. He was also a member of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima.
The family will receive friends Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and one hour prior to services at the church. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Cridersville with Pastor Sharon Stonerock officiating and military rites will be observed.
