Donald R. Snider age 93, of Wapakoneta passed away Monday, September 10 at 9:45 p.m. He was born March 11, 1925 in Uniopolis to the late Oscar M. and Nellie Marie Butler. He married Dorie Mae Strahm March 13, 1948 and she preceded him in death.
Don had served in the U. S. Army during WW II and served in the military police. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and became a pilot in 1947. He was a member of Rousculp Church of Christ and the American Legion.
Survivors include 7 daughters: Mary Willmann of St. Mary’s, Pam Shaner of Jackson Center, Donna Little, Kathy Eisert and Deb Seitz of Wapakoneta, Karen (Dale) Douglas and Patt Hughes both of Lima, 21 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and 4 siblings: Danny (Mary) Snider of Wapak, Helen Spyker of Texas, Peggy Satterfield of Lima and Barry Joe Snider of Beaverdam.
He was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren and siblings: Charles ‘Dutch’ Snider, Doyle Snider, Mary Metz, Jerry Snider and Oscar Snider, Jr.
The family will receive friends 2 – 8 p.m., Friday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral will be 10:30 Saturday with Thurman Grass officiating and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Uniopolis and military rites will be observed.
Memorial contributions may be given to Rousculp Church of Christ
