Donald Yoakam

December 17, 1958 - December 24, 2020

Donald Yoakam, age 62 of Lima, passed at 2:51 p.m., Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. He was born December 17, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to his surviving parents – David O. Yoakam of Lima and Dorothy Ambrose Yoakam of Lima. On November 4, 2000 he married Mary D. Himes Ludwig who also survives in Lima.

Donald was a retired truck driver with J. M. Stahler & Sons, Inc. He was a hardlined Harley enthusiast, avid flea marketer, and loved trains. Donald will be remembered for being community minded, having a huge heart, helping others, and being a very giving man.

Also surviving is a step son – Danny (Ashley) Himes of Carey, Ohio; 3 granddaughters; 2 brothers – Dennis Yoakam of Lima; Danny Yoakam of Lima; a sister – Darlene Ward of Lima; a God daughter – Samantha Ward of Lima; several nieces and nephews; and furbabies – his beloved Bella, Molly, and Earl.

A private gathering will be held for the famiy.

There will be a memorial service at a later date in Hume United Methodist Church.

David & Family, I just saw in Bayliff's postings of your son's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. My mother was Lois (Yoakam) Landfair. I remember you; however, I moved away and didn't get to know your immediate family. Mom always talked about you and thought of you often. We lost Mom back in 2011. Don was a wonderful neighbor and my Buddy to shoot the breeze with. He was very caring and our street won't be the same without him. I will miss him and all of the energy he had always staying busy. When I drive down my street now I already feel a difference just knowing he's gone. Rest in Peace buddy you deserve e it but I have a feeling g God's gonna keep you busy. Always your friend Shawna

So very sorry for your loss Mary, Dorothy, Darlene, Dennis and Danny. I will never forget how ornery he could be and miss the times years ago when we would go to shoot Pool at his place when Jim was still with us. Sending healing Prayers you way.
