Donna F. Poland, age 71 of Lima, died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Lima Memorial Health Care System. She was born November 24, 1939 in Morgan County, TN. She is the daughter of Clyde Woodrow and Opal Mae Stringfield Smith. Both parents are deceased. She married Albert Wallen who is deceased, then married Arthur Woodworth who survives in Grants, NM, and later married Robert Poland who is deceased.
Survivors include 3 children – Melany Wallen of Lima; Marc (Brenda) Wallen of Lima; Linda (Gary) Andrews of Lima; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother – Greg (Dee) Smith; 2 sisters – Janice (Phillip) Sprunger of Bluffton; Norma Grimsley of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by 2 children – Angela Woodworth and Kirt Woodworth and 1 sister – Celia Cosaro.
She had been a clerk at Ray’s Supermarkets and a custodian for the Lima City School System. She was a former member of the Eagles Lodge, Orioles Nest, Moose Lodge, and Blue Star Mothers. She was very creative, enjoyed music, collecting angels, playing cards, reading, bingo, scratch offs, and her family.
Memorial services will begin 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 in Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton. Pastor Warren and Rev. Stringfield will officiate. A time of sharing will follow the services.
Her cremated remains will be buried at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
