Dorothy E. Moots age 92, of Wapakoneta passed away 1:55 p.m., Wednesday Jan. 2, 2019. She was born June 26, 1926 in Harrod to the late Eber M. and Naoma G. Moyer Kaufman. She married Jack Phinton Moots April 2, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 2011.
Dorothy had worked for Fisher Cheese for 20 years and had been a homemaker. She enjoyed watching the food channel and was an avid Reds fans and Green Bay Packer fan. She loved spending time with her family and was a member of Hume United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 5 children: Mike (Janet) Moots of Powder Springs, GA, Patty (Mike Lotz) Salmons of Wapak, Jackie (Dwayne) Axe of St. Mary’s, Kevin (Mary) Moots of Lima and Shellie Schnarre of Wapak, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Dale Kaufman and 2 sisters: Rowena Hawk and Lodema Jones.
The family will receive friends 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5th at Bayliff 7 Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The memorial service will follow at 6 with Rev. Rick Lamb officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Auglaize County Special Olympics, Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
