Dorothy Janice Burget, age 86 of Elida, passed at 3:15 a.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born July 9, 1932 in Harrod, Ohio to the late Albert I. and Alma Ruth Copeland Barnes. On December 22, 1975, she married Richard W. Burget, who survives.

Mrs. Burget retired from Bill Ahls and had been a realtor. She was a 1950 graduate of Shawnee High School and was the reunion committee chairman. She enjoyed traveling and had visited every state in the United States and over 13 different countries. For over 20 years she and her husband spent their summers at Put-in-Bay. Her hobbies included bowling and gambling.

Also surviving are a daughter – Deborah L. (John) Fuchs of Columbus; 4 stepchildren, Debra (Dave) Morgan of Findlay, Tamara (Danny) Walker of Wapakoneta, Brian Burget of Wapakoneta, and Shawn Burget of Lima; 5 grandchildren – George (Trisha) Herold, Christy Herold, and Amy Herold; Matt Fuchs and Jennifer Fuchs; 3 step-grandchildren, April (Gary) Bates, Jason Walker and Melody (Jason) Martin;
2 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Darrell L. (Maxine) Barnes of Cridersville, Albert I. “Junior” (Marilyn) Barnes of Wapakoneta, and Philip C. (Betty) Barnes of Pensacola, FL; 1 sister – Linda S. Ford of Duluth, GA.; and son-in-law Raymond “Buzz” Herold.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn R. Herold of Elida; and a sister, Donna J. Rader McMillen.

Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Joshua Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice.
