Dorothy Jean Breneman, age 84 of Wapakoneta, passed away the morning of May 30, 2011 at her residence. She was born May 14, 1927 in Hardin County to Artie and Olevia Johnson Gossard. Both parents are deceased. On January 1, 1949 she married Victor L. Breneman who preceded her in death April 30, 2001.
Mrs. Breneman retired from Lima Wal-Mart in 2003, where she worked for 14 years. She had also worked for Piece Goods of Lima and at Waynesfield-Goshen Schools, Perry Schools as a school bus driver. She had previously worked at Kresges and Woolworths. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, the outdoors, gardening, and refinishing furniture. She was also a member of the N.R.A.
Survivors include a son – Rick (Janet) Breneman of Wapakoneta; a daughter Vickie Gibson of Wapakoneta; 3 grandsons – Josh Breneman of Lima, Kasey (Meghan) Gibson of Wapakoneta, and Heath (Michelle) Gibson of Spencerville; 1 great granddaughter of Valorie Gibson of Spencerville and another great grandchild on the way; a brother – Dan Gossard of Willow Springs, MO; 2 sister-in-laws – Susan Chandler of Lima and Debra Hadji of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
She was preceded n death by 4 brothers – Billy Gossard, Raymond Gossard, Ralph Gossard, Joe Gossard; 5 sisters – Ruby Long, Retha Staup, Ruaha Conrad, Ruth McPheron and Mable Gossard.
No public services or visitations are planned. It was her wish for her body to be donated to Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Memorial contributions may be given to the New Vision Nursing and Home Care,
Wapakoneta, Ohio or the National Riffle Association.
