Dorothy L. Andrew, age 92 of Cridersville and formerly of Buckland, passed Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at her residence. She was born December 18, 1928 in Huntington, IN to the late Ira Vern and Mary Hoover Hiner. On August 29, 1948 she married Rev. C. Max Andrew who passed November 18, 2019.

Mrs. Andrew had been a special education teacher at the school in Vera Cruz, Indiana and later an elementary teacher in Southern Wells, Indiana. She had the pleasure of being able to travel all over the world with her husband. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and being able to care for her friends.

Survivors include her three children – Michael Alan (Christina) Andrew of Daleville, Indiana; Vicki Lynn (Robert) Sunderland of Wapakoneta; Greg Vincent Andrew of Lima; 4 grandchildren – Staci Sunderland, Barry Andrew, Darrin Andrew, and Ryan Andrew; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother – Charles (Shirley) Hiner of IN; and 2 sister-in-laws Marg Hiner of Huntington, IN and Connie Andrew of FL.

She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons – Bradley Sunderland and Jeremy Andrew; 2 brothers – Earl Hiner and Homer Hiner and sisters – Marjorie Tubbs and Crystal Essex.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Buckland United Church of Christ, Buckland. Rev. Jeanette Tangemen will officiate. Burial will follow in Buckland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
