Douglas Dean Whetstone age 67 of Wapakoneta passed away Tuesday July 30, 2019 at his residence. He was born Nov. 19, 1951 in Lima to the late Vilas Ray and Rosaline Cathrine Jacobs. He was formerly married to Harriet Whetstone.
Mr. Whetstone had served in the U. S. Marine Corp during Vietnam. He had been a self-employed dairy farmer and enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Survivors include children: Amelia (Chad) Sterner of Uniopolis, Catherine (Brian) Fisher of Uniopolis, Deana (Bill) Kramer of Cridersville and Eddie Whetstone of Buckland, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Melvin Whetstone and Allen Leroy Whetstone and 2 infant sisters: Janet Marie Whetstone and Marilyn Sue Whetstone.
A gathering will be held noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 9th at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., at Fairmount Cemetery near Uniopolis. Memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warriors and online condolences may be shared at BayliffAndSon.com.

What I remember most about my Uncle Doug is how "strong" I thought he was for a small statured man. My heart is with the family.
sorry to here about my friend , saw him at the class reunion . had some good times together when we were younger .Doug was fun to be with and was always a very hard worker. In hind sight I wished we would of kept better at keeping in touch with each other . Please accept my deepest condolences . Prayers going out to family and friends

So sorry for your lost. Doug and I were classmates at Waynesfield-Goshen High School Class of 1969. We just had our 50th class reunion in June. That was the first time I saw him in 50th years.
