Douglas Edward Valenti, age 50 of Lima, fell asleep on February 27, 2010 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born January 16, 1960 in Lima, Ohio. He is the son of Louis (deceased) and Helena A. Ritt Valenti, who survives in Cridersville.
Other survivors include 2 sons – Nathan Valenti of Cincinnati and David Valenti of Cincinnati; his fiancée Cheryl Howell of Van Wert; siblings – Louis “Bernie” (Kris) Valenti of Muncie, Indiana; Jeff Valenti of Cridersville; Dennis (Kathy) Valenti of Cridersville; Thomas (Kellie) Valenti of Cridersville; Kathy Valenti of Cridersville; Michael (Angie) Valenti of Farmersville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Valenti was a 1978 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and a graduate of ITT of Dayton, Ohio. He worked for McBride Brother of Lima as a superintendent. He was a household fellowship coordinator for the Way International serving in the Lima area. Doug was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a good friend to everyone.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Pastor Edson H. Wentworth and the Rev. Randall Ginn will officiate. Burial will follow in Vaughan Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Way International.
