Durwood “Woody” L Rooker

May 26, 1941 - November 8, 2022

Durwood L. ’Woody’ Rooker age 81 of Lima passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 at Bridge Hospice In Findlay. He was born May 26, 1941 in Rome, GA to the late Thomas and Veda (Thornton) Rooker. He married Joyce Ann Cutter July 12, 1963 and she survives in Lima.
Woody had been a radio announcer for WIMA and T 102. He loved telling jokes and making others smile. He would never turn down a snickers or vanilla ice cream. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam serving in Cuba.
Additional family members include sons: David (Kathie) Rooker and Daniel (Gabrielle) Rooker both of Harrod; grandchildren: Kortni (Thomas) Pomaville, Taylor Rooker both of Lima, Madisen and Claire Rooker both of Harrod and a step grandson Jordan Conrad of Lima; great grandchildren: Bentley Rooker, Lincoln Pomaville and Amelia ‘Joyce Ann’ Pomaville all of Lima; 2 sisters: Joyce Marie Hansard of Southgate, MI and Carol Dean (Cleburn) Rice of Cookville, TN.
Private family services have been held.

Our love and prayers to his wife, Joyce Ann, and all the family . We are all missing my brother.

We are grieving the death of my brother but are comforted in knowing that he is not having any more pain or discomfort. He is now with the Lord and other family members who have gone before. And we will be meeting again - some sooner than others. For now, we can hang on to our precious memories.

Cleburn and I have a lot of fond memories of Woody, family get to getters, etc. He was always a joker. I'll always have a memory of him when he was a freshman in high school. He would pass me the hall and yell "Hi little sister" because he was taller than me. Even though we haven't lived as close to his family since we moved to Tn. but we will always miss him.

Woody was just always fun to be around. I have several good memories of my little brother. I remember when he was a freshman in high school he would meet me in the hall (I was 3 yrs. older than him) and he yelled "Hey little sister" because he was taller than me. Cleburn and I always loved his humor. Even though we haven't lived close to him and his family the last 12 yrs. we are going to miss him so much as I know Joyce Ann and family will.

Though I am grieved to hear of my Uncle Woody's passing, my memories of him bring a big smile to my face. He was a joy to be around and I pray for God's blessings on Aunt Joyce and the rest of the family who are missing him dearly. Romans 15:13
