Edith Marie LaRue, age 91 of Cridersville, passed at 10:45 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Burton’s Ridge. She was born July 21, 1930 in Deshler, Ohio to the late Chester Fred and Nancy A. Drew Fisher. On December 12, 1953 she married Karl LaRue who passed in 1984.
Mrs. LaRue retired from the Lima City School System where she had worked in the Whitter School cafeteria for many years. Her hobbies included collecting old coffee cups, saucers, lighthouses, and marbles and enjoyed all kinds of puzzles. She loved her dog, walking with her friends and family and life in general. She was a fighter to the end!
Survivors include 2 sons – Douglas A. (Sheryl) LaRue of Lima; Daniel R. (Debbi) LaRue of North Carolina; 2 daughters – Denise (Dennis) Perry of South Carolina; Darleen (Gary) Watts of South Carolina; blessed with 8 grandchildren – Renae, Nicholas, Tim, Josh, Jennifer, Michele, Jarod, and David; 16 great grandchildren – Ashley, Kately, Curtis, Sydney, Kody, Corey, Sarah, Bailey, Jordan, Kalli, Alex, Tristan, Taylor, Rubi, Shelby, and Olivia and presently 2 great great grandchildren – Avery, Kaiden and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters – Evelyn Wagner, Jenny Williams, Sarah Rowland, and Ruth Ann Nidday.
Funeral services will begin 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Her son-in-law, Pastor Gary Watts will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
