Edward E. Miller, age 87 of Cridersville, died at 8:06 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2013 in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born June 9, 1926 in Alger, Ohio to John M. and Lelah L. Lehman Miller; both parents preceded him in death. On November 2, 1946 he married Edith A. Chilcote, who survives in Cridersville.
Edward was a retired production scheduler for Teledyne Ohio Steel. He served during WWII in U.S. Army. Mr. Miller was a Member of Forest Park United Methodist Church and the Ft. Amanda Lodge Masonic 706 F&AM; Lima Chapter 49 RAM, Lima Council 20 R&SM, Ft. Shawnee Commandary 14. He was a 50 year member of Lima Shrine, Grove Chapter 527 OES, and Miami Court 53, order of the Amaranth.
He is survived by a daughter E. Caroline Miller of Cridersville; 2 brothers John Ellis (Luena) Miller of Indian Lake, Jim B. Miller of Harrod; 2 sisters Evelyn Lawrence of Russells Point, and Helen (Bud) Ousley of Rapid City, SD.
He is preceded in death by a sister-in-law Phyllis Miller and brother –in-law Mark Lawrence.
A Masonic Service will begin 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 followed by the funeral service Rev. Tim Benjamin will officiate, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 8445.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association, or Forest Park United Methodist Church.
