Mrs. Smith has been a member at St. Rose Parish since 1959 when they moved to Lima for her husband’s employment at Ford Motor Company. Her favorite thing to do was to support her children and grandchildren (great grandchildren too) in their activities. She enjoyed spending time with the ladies from her bible study group. She loved going ‘home’ to visit family in Pennsylvania, which she took every opportunity to do when the offer arose. She was excited to give hands on instruction to her grandson on how to make family favorite recipes and bake holiday pastries with her niece. She took pleasure in being involved in any family gathering and always contributed to the event.
Of her 5 children, she is survived by Shirley (John) Basham of Martinsville, IN; Walter K. Jr. (Doris) Smith of Lima; Gary (Angie) Smith of Belle Fourche, SD; Theresa (Darren) Dew of Lima. Her heart suffered greatly at the loss of her youngest Anthony (Antoinette also deceased) of Lima.
