Elza Lee Elam age 89, of Lima died 5:30 a.m., Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born Jan. 16, 1925 in Betsey Lane Pike County, KY to Joe C. and Amanda Boyd Elam who preceded him in death. He married Peggy Ellen Phillips Jan. 13, 1950 and she preceded him in death March 11, 2004.
Lee was a loving father and husband and was loved by many. Lee was a machinist and retired from Weaver Machine Shop at age 65.
Survivors include 3 children, Peggy Lee (Ralph) Ribley of Lima, Joe Edward (Cecile) Elam of Powder Springs, GA and Jonathan Wainwright (Julie) Elam of Grove City, Ohio and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Russel, Denny and Jay Elam and 3 sisters Verle Maddex Hunter, Flora Vaughn and Willie May Moore.
Friends may call or visit the family home at 1018 Warren Ave. Lima.
