Emily Brown, age 84 of Waynesfield, passed at 10:05 p.m., October 31, 2021 at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born July 1, 1937 in Tip Top, Kentucky to the late Add and Flora Carpenter Marshall. On January 18, 1958 she married Marcus Brown, who survives.
Mrs. Brown had worked as a home health care aide. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, praying, and singing. She was known as the “Southern Belle” at Otterbein-Cridersville. Emily loved all animals, collecting angels, and Lee’s Chicken! Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and her church family.
Survivors include 3 sons – Sam (Kim) Brown of Delphos; Rick (Laure) Brown Kenton; Todd (Missie) Brown of Wapakoneta; a daughter – Melissa (Gary) Hensley of Waynesfield; a daughter-in-law – Rhonda Kay of Ottoville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers – Denver Marshall of McGuffey and Herbert Marshall of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons – Charles Brown and Paul Brown; a daughter – Brenda Brown; 5 brothers – Nicodemus; Oran, Canon, Willard, Junior and a sister – Ellery Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., November 3, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Funeral services will begin 12:00 p.m., November 3, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville; Pastor Dave Mowery will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Branch Cemetery, near Waynesfield, Pastor Bill Prater will officiate.
