Erma D. Gross, age 81 of rural Wapakoneta, passed at 5:19 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 at Lima Memorial Health Care’s emergency room. She was born April 15, 1938 in Lima, Ohio to the late John L. and Pearl A. Roberts Miller. On May 4, 1956 she married Ronald Jacob Gross, Sr. who passed on September 5, 2004.
Mrs. Gross retired in 2000 from Rite Aid. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, genealogy and gardening. She treasured time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and loved her little dog Emmie.
She is survived by a son – Randy W. (Brenda) Gross of Wapakoneta; a daughter – Rhonda (Norm) Sheridan of Wapakoneta; 3 grandchildren – Lori (Eric Krites) Margraves; Scott (Missy) Sheridan; Jessica (Dana) Jenkins; 3 adopted grandchildren – Mindy (Ken) Jarman; Jeff Gross; Joshua Gross; 14 great grandchildren – Tiffany (Zach Florence) Sheridan; Jacob (Keisha) Sheridan; Austin Sheridan; Tyler Sheridan; Andrew Sheridan; Joshua Gross, Jr.; Matthew Gross; Caleb Victor; Daniel Nagel; Madalyn Jarman; Kenny Jarman; Brantley Jarman; Addalyn Jarman; David Gross; 2 great great grandchildren – Bella and O’rion; 2 brothers – Richard Miller of Sidney; Ronald (Cheryl) Miller of Columbus; 2 sisters – Helen (Floyd) Gross of IN; Shirley Stanley of OK.
She was preceded in death by a son – Ronald J. Gross, Jr.; a daughter – Sheryl Nance; 6 brothers – Eldon Miller; Robert Miller; John Miller; Donald Miller; Roger Miller; Larry Miller; 5 sisters – Marcella Pitchford; Betty Eberle; Ruth Miller; Mary Miller; and Carolyn Miller.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery near Uniopolis.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2019 and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society.
