Evelyn C. Ewing, 91, formerly of Waynesfield, died at 11:45 a.m. April 2, 2012, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.
She was born March 2, 1921, in Waynesfield to Hosea H. and Sylvia Bacome Horn, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 24, 1941, she married Albert W. Ewing, who died May 7, 1982.
Mrs. Ewing was a homemaker. She was a member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church, Lima. She had been a grocery store clerk and a volunteer with the Allen County Red Cross.
Survivors include two sons, Dean D. (Darlene) Ewing, of Lima, and Gene (Renee) Ewing, of Waynesfield; two daughters, Diane Trueblood, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Barbara Ewing, of Wilmington, Del.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Hefner, of Satsuna, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Thelma Horn, of Wapakoneta; and Kathy Neilson, of Wilmington, Del., who was like a daughter to her.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Gerald and Bill Horn; two sisters, Dayle Cox and Betty Shaw; and a son-in-law, Robert Trueblood.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor Jim Loescher will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Uniopolis.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
